Monsignor Arthur Coyle pled not guilty over the weekend on charges of paying for sexual conduct.

A Catholic official from Boston pled not guilty today on charges of paying for sexual conduct. The official, the 62-year-old Monsignor Arthur Coyle, is from the Archdiocese of Boston. He was arrested after the police allegedly found him Sunday with a prostitute behind a cemetery, the Boston Globe reports
As a result of the incident, Coyle has taken a voluntary leave of absence from being an high-ranking episcopal vicar at the Archdiocese.
The 62-year-old was arrested Sunday after he offered a prostitute money for sex, Lowell Police Captain Kelly Richardson said. Coyle allegedly paid $40 to a prostitute for oral sex. The police found his car and saw him with a “known” prostitute, the Boston Globe reports. Officers approached his vehicle while the car was parked behind a cemetery.
